As someone who didn’t really know the story, I was genuinely intrigued by the details of what happened
Narrative
During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sports broadcast crew is forced to cover the Israeli athlete hostage crisis. The acting is believable, with comedy in all the right places, and a pacing and execution that keeps you watching until the credits roll.
They did a solid job of not giving away plot points
Some might find the lack of a change of scenery tiresome, but I think it worked in this case. I think they wanted you to feel like the control room was your world, and to feel like you were there on that eventful day.
It’s thought-provoking without being preachy
They did a good job of touching on the political and emotional elements. The interweaving of footage from the actual event, including some from the broadcast, definitely draws you more into the experience.
A nice touch
While it’s not a film I really plan on watching over and over again, it’s a very well-made piece of work that I recommend to friends who enjoy such films.
