Not LOTR, not in a million years
This movie doesn’t have the Tolkien vibe, the epic tone, the plot is very random and contrived. In the Lord of the Rings anime thing there are a lot of anime (in my opinion not suitable for this kind of story) and very few of the Lord of the Rings.
On the plus side of the film, the music is very good!
After the Ralph Bakshi version from the seventies, which was not very good, but respectful of the Books, you can’t pretend to watch this style of animation and you can’t help but want at least the same quality and realism. Also, the story seems to me something that Tolking will cover with a simple mention without too much detail, War of the Rohirrim is an exaggerated story, overstretched to fill the length of the film.
