Colin Farrell fought hard to have his version of the Penguin smoke tobacco in The Batman (2022), but was unsuccessful
Narrative
Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, makes an attempt to take the reins of Gotham’s criminal world. From melting makeup to filming in freezing temperatures, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti talk about how they landed their roles during production of The Penguin. For his own series, however, the character is portrayed as a casual tobacco user with a penchant for cigars.

Plus Cristin Milioti is just as good as Sofia Falcone
I’ve been waiting for The Penguin since it was announced it was going to be a series and I can say it’s as good as I expected. Colin Farrell is absolutely fantastic as Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin. He excelled in The Batman and is even better in a leading role.
I hope we get more stories like this from this world
The two of them fight to find out who the number one mobster in Gotham is and to “bring order to all the chaos”. Some people were worried that a supporting character like the Penguin wouldn’t matter without Batman or Bruce Wayne but fear not because this is more than just a villainous character in a superhero series, it’s a great police officer on its own. It’s a gritty, violent crime drama that is so much fun to watch unfold.
